Lamar County Cellular is also the first cellular business to bring GSM or Global System for Mobile Communication, to Paris. This new technology has an increased capacity over analog and has improved customer features and service. GSM is the technology used by major carriers such as Cingular, AT&T, and T-mobile and is the standard in Europe, South Africa, and Mexico, with the network expanding rapidly every day.

Lamar County Cellular has built five new towers in Pattonville, Faught, Powderly, High, and Paris. It also plans on building additional towers in Paris and Powderly. We believe that all of Lamar County should have service, not just in town and major highways.
